Steven Paul Jobs
Biography
Steven Paul Jobs (short: Steve Jobs) is a Cofounder
and the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Apple Inc
which is a company for computers, entertainment
electronics and application software. Steve Jobs is
one of the most influential persons in the IT-Branch.
He was born at the end of February 1955 (24
th
February 1955). His unmarried parents who were two
students at that time had problems to care for him
and gave Steve up for adoption. His new parents were
Paul Jobs and Clara Jobs. Two years later they adopted a girl named Patty. Steve Jobs
grew up in Mountain View, a small town in Silicon Valley, California. He was so
intelligent that he skipped a class and felt superior over the other children. He wasn’t
interested in the things the others in his age did. The older he got the more interesting
was electronic for him. After he visited the “Homestead High School” he moved to
Portland to study at “Reed Collage”. But after only one semester he stopped because
he wanted to travel with another student with the name Daniel Kottke to India
because both were interested in the hippie movement. In 1974 he moved back to
California to his parents and started to work as developer for games at Atari and
created together with Stephen Wozniak the game “Breakout”. During that time
Wozniak developed a new computer which had a TV-connector and were
programmable with BASIC. Steve Jobs was so impressed by this computer that he had
the idea to found a firm to sell it. They founded the firm with the name “Apple” at 1
th
of April 1976 and sold the computer under the name “Apple I”. The seed capitals were
Steve Job’s Volkswagen Van and Wozniak’s HP scientific calculator. The “Apple I” was
the first computer which came assembled. Only a case for it was needed. During that
time Stephen Wozniak enhanced the “Apple I” and created the “Apple II”. The “Apple
II” was the beginning of the success of Apple. It was sold over two million times in ten
years. In 1983 Steve Jobs lure away John Sculley, who was an experienced Manager,
from Pepsi. After a failed intrigue (September 1985) against Sculley, Steve Jobs
